Annuities

Request an annuity quote

Nobody can price an annuity from a web form. Rates and payout factors change, and the right contract depends on when you need the money and what the money is for. Tell us those two things and we will come back with real numbers, in writing.

No pressure

A quote is not an application, and asking costs nothing.

We say when it is a no

If an annuity is the wrong instrument for the money, we will tell you that.

Everything in writing

Rate, term, surrender schedule, fees and any rider charge, on one page.

Not every product

We do not offer every annuity available in Florida. We will tell you what we compared.

What we need to quote

Have these six ready and the first call takes about fifteen minutes.

  • Your age, and your spouse’s if the income is to cover both of you.
  • The amount you are thinking of placing.
  • Where the money is now — a bank account, a CD, an IRA or 401(k), or an existing annuity. Qualified and non-qualified money follow different rules.
  • What you want it to do — grow at a guaranteed rate, or pay income.
  • When income should start, if income is the goal: now, or in a set number of years.
  • How long you can leave it alone. This decides which surrender schedules are even appropriate.

What happens next

  1. A short conversation. What the money is for, when you need it, and what you already have. If an annuity is not the right answer, this is where we say so.
  2. A written comparison. More than one insurer, on the same deposit and the same terms, showing the rate or payout, the surrender schedule, every fee, and any rider charge.
  3. Your decision, in your time. Nothing is submitted until you say so, and Florida requires the recommendation to be documented against what you told us.
  4. After it is issued. Florida gives you an unconditional refund period of at least 21 days from delivery. Read the contract inside that window.

Not sure yet?

Two things worth reading first: what actually sets the income an annuity pays, and the honest case for and against. Our retirement income gap calculator shows how much guaranteed income you are short of, which is the number worth having before any quote.

Annuities are insurance contracts, not bank deposits. They are not FDIC insured and all guarantees are backed by the claims-paying ability of the issuing insurer. Contract terms, rates, payout factors and surrender schedules vary by insurer. This page is general information, not tax, legal or investment advice.
